Boca Raton – Are You Ready to Rock?

By Robert S Weinroth
With Memorial Day being the unofficial start of summer (who needs to wait for the Summer Solstice on June 21st?) it’s time to plan for the annual “Summer Series,” sponsored by the City of Boca Raton.
The series kicks off with Battle of the Bands.
Come out and enjoy music, yoga, movies and games all summer long!
The Battle of the Bands returns to Boca Raton on June 7th at 7PM. Come out and watch local bands compete for the top prize of $1,500 cash in two categories (teen and 20+).
The fun continues all throughout the summer with a great lineup of free music, game nights, yoga, ticketed concerts and more!
A new addition to this year’s events is Summer Solstice Yoga & Art on Friday June 21st from 7 to 10PM. This event is free and open to the public. Spend the Summer Solstice at the Mizner Park Amphitheater and watch the sun set on the longest day of the year. Celebrate National Yoga Day with glow paint, a paint and wine class, healing workshops, and glow yoga!
Other free summer events include:
  • Caribbean Chillers, Jimmy Buffet tribute concert (June 14)
  • FAU Summer Concert Band (June 23)
  • Game Night “On the Boardwalk” (July 12)
  • Peace of Woodstock, 50th Anniversary Concert (July 19)
  • Bohemian Rhapsody Sing-a-long, movie PG-13 (July 26)
