Authentic Irish Pub Celebrates 10 Years in Delray Beach

Accolades Abound for Tim Finnegans

Boca Raton, FL Tim Finnegans Irish Pub owners Lisa and Noel Walsh on March 30 will mark their restaurant’s 10-year anniversary in Delray Beach with a celebration from 7 PM to 11:30 PM. The award-winning pub and pub-owner have accumulated numerous local, national, and international accolades in the last decade. The pub was listed in The 50 Best Bars in the U.S. To Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by Travel & Leisure magazine. Tim Finnegans was awarded North America’s Best Irish Community Pub of 2017 by Irish Pubs Global. In 2018, Lisa Walsh was named North America’s Best Bar Person at the Irish Pubs Global Awards in Galway, Ireland, and this month she will be honored by the Emerald Society as the Irish Person of the Year. Also, the pub captured the Best Bite Restaurant title in Delray Beach for the second consecutive year. Walsh credits head chef Jorge Andrade and his team for besting the competitors.

As Walsh describes in her blog Lisa’s Corner on http://www.timfinnegansirishpub.com, 2018 was an exceptional year for the family and pub. “We were in Galway to pick up our second award at the Irish Hospitality Awards, where I was named Irish Pub Person of the Year 2018 on the heels of the 2017 award for Best Irish Community Pub in North America.”

Very proud of her Irish heritage, Walsh also is pleased to be recognized as a highly successful woman entrepreneur in the pub business. She recently was honored to be one of only two women among 40 North American publicans to be invited to Washington, DC for a workshop and a visit with the Irish Ambassador to the United States and his wife at their residence at the Irish Embassy.

Irish Person of the Year

Lisa Walsh was honored March 10 by the Emerald Society of Fort Lauderdale as Irish Person of the Year. She is delighted to be honored by the non-profit organization that raises money for scholarships for deserving local youth. Walsh says, “What makes this award extra special is that day marks the 30th anniversary of my move to the USA. What a way to celebrate the best decision I ever made! The American dream is alive and well.”

Walsh aspires to “bring all the generations together” in their family-owned and operated public house to celebrate family and friends and Irish traditions. Determined to bring authentic Irish culture to the greater Delray Beach area, Lisa Walsh says, “the authentic Irish pub is the center of all things in the community, and we are committed to giving our guests the utmost experience of a true Irish pub.”

Authentic House-made Pub Food

The pub offers authentic Irish house-made food using traditional family recipes; an extensive lineup of music covering a wide range of genres, from Celtic rock, traditional Irish live music sessions, blues, folk, as well as some good old rock ‘n’ roll; sports such as the 6 nations Rugby Championship; Gaelic Football Live, and much more. Tim Finnegans also accommodates private parties and even arranges special events and excursions for their guests. In February, they hosted 222 guests for a Tim Finnegans Fun in the Caribbean Sun Cruise.

Fundraising Is a Top Priority

Lisa Walsh is a generous publican who inspires her loyal guests to help her raise funds for local neighbors struggling with illness or hard times, children’s causes, vets and much more. Tim Finnegans Irish Pub patrons chip in their time, talents and treasures to help those in need. One of the pub’s greatest fundraising events was for the Florida Keys after the devastation of Hurricane Irma in fall 2017. Among the pub’s favorite charities is The St. Baldrick’s Foundation that raises funds to help find cures for children with cancer, The HOW Foundation of South Florida that helps vets with PTSD, and The Witches of Delray annual Witches Ride — a Halloween charity bike ride on the last Saturday in October that raises funds for the Achievement Centers for Children and Families.

Tim Finnegans Irish Pub is located at 2885 S. Federal Hwy., Delray Beach, in the Dumar Plaza. The pub is open daily for lunch and dinner from 11 am to 2 am. Happy Hour is daily from 11 am to 6 pm.
