Bikes for Tykes Every Child Deserves a Bike

Boca Raton, FL — Friends of Foster Children (Friends) announced today their Bike Giveaway, scheduled for this Saturday, December 8, 2018 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Friends headquarters, located at 4100 Okeechobee Blvd., West Palm Beach. The event will be hosted by Friends of Foster Children complete with a full breakfast for the foster families and a visit from Santa.

Due to the generosity of Knights of Columbus M.J. Benvenuti Council #8419 at St. Rita’s in Wellington Knights of Columbus and local celebrity Jim Sackett, 100 brand new assembled bikes with helmets will be donated to each foster child. During the Bike Giveaway, each bike will be specific to the size and special needs of each child to ensure the perfect fit for what may very well be their first bike. Event participant, Knights of Columbus member, and Friends Board member, Jim Sackett said, “This opportunity to help our Palm Beach County’s foster children during the holidays is a perfect time to give the gift of a bike. Equally important is to give them chance to learn to ride a bike, which is a right-of-passage every child should experience. We all wish we could be there to see the look of joy and accomplishment on their faces.”

It’s about creating happy childhood experiences—getting a bike and learning to ride—experiences every child should have. Knights of Columbus #8419 is all about making dreams come true, helping children in need, and giving back to their community. The men of Knights of Columbus are proud to spearhead this great holiday event and worked tirelessly to purchase and assemble 100 bikes.
