Woodland Latest In Line of Accomplished Honorary Members at Quail Ridge Country Club

Boca Raton, FL — Not many country clubs can claim two Masters champions as former members. Quail Ridge Country Club can – Hall of Famers Sam Snead and Claude Harmon.
Quail Ridge also has an impressive list of “honorary members,” including eight golfers who have combined to win 10 PGA Tour titles, 19 PGA Tour Champions wins and four U.S. Amateurs.
The latest honorary member, Gary Woodland, qualified for this week’s PGA Tour Championship at East Lake after a stellar season where he won the Waste Management Phoenix Open and equaled the lowest 36-hole score in majors’ history (130), eventually finishing sixth at the PGA Championship for his first top-10 in a major.
Woodland received his membership at this year’s Quail Ridge Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, where he and wife Gabby were there to support Ross Randall, his college coach at Kansas and mentor. Randall, a longtime Quail Ridge resident, died last year at 71.
“It means a lot to me to have membership to a place where Coach spent so much of his life,” Woodland said when he was presented the membership by Hall of Fame chairman Kevin Hammer. “I’ve heard great things about the golf tradition at Quail Ridge.”
Woodland, who is ranked 28th in the FedExCup standings, has qualified for the Tour Championship three consecutive years and six of the last eight. Woodland, 34, has won three times on the PGA Tour.
Quail Ridge has more than 100 members who have handicaps in the single figures and serves as the headquarters for the prestigious Society of Seniors.
“We are extremely proud of our honorary members and their association to Quail Ridge,” said Dan Brosnihan, Quail Ridge’s director of golf. “Quail Ridge has a passion for the game of golf and a storied history regarding professionals and amateurs alike. Our honorary members have contributed so much, both on and off the course, and our relationships are certainly cherished.”
