New Physicians Join Marcus Neuroscience Institute

 

BOCA RATON, FL – Officials at Boca Raton Regional Hospital today announced the
appointment of Joshua Chalkley, DO, MS and Timothy Miller, Jr., MD, MS to the medical staff of the
Marcus Neuroscience Institute (MNI) and BocaCare® Physician Network.

Dr. Joshua Chalkley is board-certified in psychiatry and neurology. His special areas of interest include
autoimmune disease of the nervous system, infusion therapies, multiple sclerosis, neurological infections
and neuromyelitis optica. He earned his medical degree from Nova Southeastern University in Davie,
Florida and his Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Kentucky University in
Richmond, Kentucky. His postgraduate training included an internship and residency program in
neurology at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky; followed by a
fellowship in neuroimmunology at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, affiliate of Harvard Medical School in
Boston, Massachusetts. He served as Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Kentucky
neuroimmunology division and at its Veterans Affairs’ Hospital. Dr. Chalkley also served as Director of
University of Kentucky Multiple Sclerosis Center. His research has appeared in such peer-reviewed
publications as Future Directions in Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis, Treatment of Pediatric Multiple
Sclerosis and the Journal of Neuro Viorology.

Dr. Timothy Miller is board-eligible in neurosurgery. His special areas of interest include brain surgery,
functional neurosurgery and spine surgery. He earned his medical degree and master of science degree in
Molecular Medicine from University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida where he also served as Founder
and President of the Neurological Surgery Interest Group. His postgraduate training included a
neurosurgical residency and functional neurosurgery fellowship, including Chief Resident at Duke
University Health System in Durham, North Carolina. His has authored or co-authored three book
chapters and his research has appeared in such noted peer-reviewed publications as the Journal of
Clinical Neuroscience and the Journal of Neurosurgery.
