Global Leadership Summit Comes to Boca Raton

By: Michael Demyan

The Willow Creek Association is prepared to host their 24th annual Global Leadership Summit, which will begin on August 9 and be simulcast live in Boca Raton.

Boca will be one of the 600 sites across the country to take part in the two-day summit, which will provide leadership training from 14 diverse members of the 2018 faculty. WCA believes that Christians who are equipped with leadership abilities are able to transform their communities and they hand pick each member based on their innovative approaches, expertise and overall success.

This year’s speakers will include Angela Ahrendts, the senior vice president of Apple retail, and entrepreneur Danny Meyer, who was named one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People.” Others include best-selling authors John Maxwell and Simon Sinek.

Bill Mitchell, the senior pastor of Boca Raton Community Church, is excited to be able to host the Global Leadership Summit and thinks it will do a lot to help people become stronger Christian leaders.

“Our hope is to see South Florida raise the bar of leadership and ethics and we believe the summit can be a milestone in the development of leaders across all ages,” he said. “We encourage you to bring yourself, your team and your organization to this transformational event.”

Past attendees have praised the summit for the impact it has had on them, including Abide CEO Josh Dotzler.

“The summit has been monumental in helping me and our team reach the vision God has placed before us and has helped us overcome so many challenges and obstacles,” he said. “Every time we are engaged at the summit, we get re-inspired with a grander vision.”

Not only will attendees be able to watch the broadcast of the summit and learn from the various speakers, but it will also be a time for local networking opportunities with those in the Boca Raton community. The WCA also feels that it is much more convenient for people to gain these learning opportunities in a setting close to home, without all of the costs for travel.

Those who wish to attend the Global Leadership Summit at Boca Raton Community Church can get a special discount if they register to attend by June 26. Discounted prices are $199 for individuals, with team rates going for $149 and $169. Students, faculty and those in the military can register for $89. Prices will increase on June 27. Tickets can be purchased by going to bocacommunity.org/summit.
