The Cultural Council of Palm Beach County to offer $18,000 in Grants to Local Artists

The Cultural Council is now accepting applications for its annual Randolph A. Frank Prize for the Performing Arts and the Dina Baker Fund for Mature Female Artists – both of which support Palm Beach County artists.

Each year, the Randolph A. Frank Prize for the Performing Arts alternates funding for performing artists and performing arts educators who enrich the county’s quality of performing arts. This year, $6,000 will fund a performing arts educator and $2,000 will fund an emerging performing arts educator.

The Dina Baker Fund for Mature Female Artists grants $10,000 to an artist age 60 or older with financial need and recognizable merit. The artist may use funds for professional development, arts-related exhibitions, equipment and supplies, healthcare costs or basic living expenses.

Past grantees include local dancer-choreographer Demetrius Klein (2017 Frank Prize), Lake Worth artist Debra Yates (2017 Dina Baker Fund) and others.

The Cultural Council will offer an application training session on Tuesday, July 10 at 2 p.m. for those interested. Applications close Friday, Aug. 3. For more information, to register for the training date or to apply, visit palmbeachculture.com.
