Taste of Recovery Returns!  Saturday, June 2 at Old School Square

Second annual features fantastic fare and fun – plus a Chance for Recovery

Last year, local Celebrity Chef Louie Bossi, best known as the Executive Chef & Partner of Louie Bossi’s Ristorante, Bar & Pizzeria in), decided to share the success of his still-nascent Boca Raton restaurant and “pay it forward,” by helping to organize and host the inaugural launch of a new culinary event, A Taste of Recovery.  The first-ever Taste turned out even better than expected. In fact, it was such a hit, that it has now “officially” become an annual event – so get ready for the Second Annual Taste of Recovery culinary feast!   It again takes place at the Old School Square Pavilion (51 North Swinton Avenue) in Delray Beach.

Once again, guests will enjoy unlimited samplings from area restaurants, all for one low admission price.  This year’s lineup of restaurants includes returning favorites Louie Bossi’s, City Oyster, Farmer’s Table, Fries to Caviar, Josie’s Ristorante, Max’s Harvest, Rebel House, Rocco’s Tacos, Seasons 52, Tucker Duke’s, and Vero Water; along with newcomers Basque, Dada, Hickory Sticks BBQ, MIA, My Organic Juice, Venu, Zire Sushi & Thai, and more!

Dave Scott and the Reckless Shots will be cranking out the live entertainment.  The evening’s host is Mr. Gary Kimble, author of the new best-selling book, “Walk the Talk with Step 12: Staying Sober through Service” and ambassador for the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.

All proceeds go to benefits The Crossroads Club in Delray, a non-profit organization that provides meeting space for 12-Step recovery groups at no cost – and has helped literally thousands of people in recovery in South Florida achieve sobriety over its 36-year history.  “The addiction epidemic is one of the greatest tragedies facing our nation,” says Co-Founder Tony Allerton, “The Crossroads Club offers a solution to the cycle of addiction free of charge, and the Club has literally saved the lives of thousands of individuals and continues to do so each day.”  Chef Louie Bossi also duly notes, “Almost every family, including my own, has been impacted by addiction. This event is a tribute to all who have lost their lives and to those in recovery. The restaurant industry in particular has large numbers of employees in recovery.”

The highlight of the culinary feast is the “Best Bite” award, bestowed to the most outstanding dish of the night, as determined by this year’s Judges Liz Balmaseda (Palm Beach Post Food & Dining Editor), Mike Mayo (Sun Sentinel Dining Critic), and Jan Norris (Florida Weekly Food Writer).   Last year’s award went to Chef Mark Militello of Josie’s Ristorante.

The Second Annual Taste of Recovery takes place Saturday, June 2 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, at Old School Square Pavilion (51 North Swinton Avenue) in Delray Beach, FL.  Admission price is only $40, and includes unlimited food and beverage samplings.  Another cool thing: there’s plenty of free parking nearby.
