Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County’s (HFHSPBC) Home Builders Blitz, two leading South Florida commercial General Contractors and their professional teams “fast track” built, donated and dedicated two homes in Boynton Beach to hard-working, low income Habitat Partner Families.  Representing more than a $300,000 total commitment in funding, materials and professional labor, Current Builders (CB) and RCC Associates (RCC) each built a new home, and fixed others that were nearly falling down from the foundations and its retaining wall to interior walls to a roof replacement, and then outfitted each with flooring, plumbing, air-conditioning, painting and kitchen and bathroom cabinets.

The HFHSPBC Home Builders Blitz annually brings together professional commercial and residential powerhouse builders for one shared purpose – to build safe and affordable housing for families in need of a decent place to call home. It’s part of a national Habitat for Humanity Blitz Build tradition that began in 2002 when Habitat for Humanity of Wake County, North Carolina partnered with a local homebuilder to build 12 Habitat homes in five days.

Professional general contractors and commercial builders get to use their skills and industry relationships to exponentially grow Habitat’s work and maximize its efforts in South Palm Beach County. By also providing significant funding and materials, it allows Habitat to serve even more Habitat Partner Families in the affiliate’s communities of Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach.

“Partnering with Habitat is an excellent way to achieve corporate social responsibility goals while making a lasting impact,” noted HFHSPBC Chief Development Officer Kari Oeltjen. “Our South Palm Beach County affiliate offers a variety of opportunities for giving in which employers, employees, colleagues and clients can bond while participating together in helping to build safe, affordable homes while strengthening whole communities. We look forward to increasing our Home Builders Blitz each year.”

Jeff Fengler, HFHSPBC director of construction, added that “Habitat and our homeowners aren’t the only ones who benefit from our local Home Builders Blitz.  Through the Home Builders Blitzes, commercial and residential construction leaders strengthen ties to their community by engaging their subcontractors and vendors who share their company’s values.”
