Spanish River Church – Serving the City
On April 7, 2018, Spanish River Church launched its Serve The City campaign, a day of service dedicated to helping our community and those in need in Boca Raton and surrounding areas. Over 400 church members dedicated their day to volunteering at local non-profits, including:
- Preparing care packages for at-risk foster kids through Best Foot Forward;
- Harvesting vegetables to feed the hungry through CROS Ministries;
- Cleaning family cottages and vehicles for Place of Hope;
- Preparing food and stocking supplies for Boca Helping Hands;
- Spending time with and visiting elderly residents of Avante Nursing Home;
- Renovating and painting several areas of the Broward Outreach Center;
- Cleaning a home for foster kids through 4 Kids;
SRC/YMCA Beach Cleanup
The Thomson family – including Allie (6), Maddie (4), and Henry (2) – helped clean Boca Raton’s beaches, one of our City’s greatest assets.
In a partnership with the YMCA of South Palm Beach County, nearly 75 SRC and YMCA volunteers from all walks of life spent the morning at Spanish River Beach.
The Serve The City team removed over 50 pounds of trash and debris from Spanish River Beach.
We have a responsibility to love one another and to take care of the planet we’ve been given. From their efforts to Serve The City, Spanish River Church truly takes that responsibility to heart.
