FAU Baseball Team Remain Undefeated in Home Series

The Florida Atlantic University baseball team began the 2018 season with a three-game home series Friday at 6:30 p.m., hosting George Washington University at FAU Baseball Stadium. For the next three games against George Washington, the Owls took the win.

The three game winning streak ended when the Owls fell to the Gators 6-2 at the University of Florida on February 20.

Returning back to the Owl’s nest, FAU baseball claims a 4-game winning streak against Delaware and Miami. The FAU Baseball Stadium hosted the University of Delaware for a three-game home series and played the University of Miami soon after.

Florida Atlantic (7-1) has won two three-game series at home and recently retained a 5-4 victory over Miami on Wednesday night.

The FAU baseball team’s 2018 season resumes March 2, at 9:00 p.m. ET. in Eugene, Oregon for the first of four games against the University of Oregon Ducks.

Oregon (5-2) has won three in a row, including a 14-0 victory on Tuesday against Seattle in their home opener at PK Park. The Ducks have four batters at .333 or higher, led by Spencer Steer at .345. Jakob Goldfarb has team bests of three home runs and nine RBI. The squad also has a reliever with a 3-0 mark in Parker Kelly.

Here are the probable starting matchups for each game this weekend, with all game starts denoted as Eastern Time:

Friday, 9 p.m.: Owls – Senior LHP Jake Miednik (2-0, 0.68 ERA) vs. Ducks – Junior RHP Matt Mercer (1-1, 2.19 ERA)
Saturday, 5 p.m.: Owls – Junior RHP Kyle Marman (2-0, 0.71 ERA) vs. Ducks – Junior LHP Cole Stringer (0-1, 4.66 ERA)
Sunday, 5 p.m.: Owls – Junior RHP Vince Coletti (0-0, 3.60 ERA) vs. Ducks – Sophomore RHP James Acuna (0-0, 5.40 ERA)
Monday, 9 p.m.: Owls – TBD vs. Ducks – TBD

All games previously mentioned and upcoming games are available for streaming on FAUSports.TV, with coverage beginning about 10 minutes before first pitch. The Owls return to Boca Raton for their next home game a week from Friday, hosting Seton Hall on March 9 at FAU Baseball Stadium. Entry procedures this season at FAU Baseball Stadium will be similar to that of football and basketball; fans should arrive early to allow time to enter the facility to assure being seated in time for first pitch.
