An impressive collection by world-renowned artist Romero Britto will be on exhibition at Wentworth Gallery at Boca Town Center on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 6-9 p.m. with a live artist appearance by Britto himself.

“These are all new pieces I did for the show,” said Britto. “No one has seen this new art before.”

The Brazilian-born international artist uses vibrant, bold and colorful patterns to reflect his optimistic view of the world around him. His playful themes and hard‐edged compositions, combined with his unique talent, unshakable resolve and belief in his art, have granted him worldwide recognition. With exhibitions in galleries and museums in over 100 countries and collaborations with global brands such as Audi, Bentley, Coca‐Cola, Walt Disney, Evian, Hublot, Mattel and FIFA, his work is recognizable everywhere.

As Art Basel makes its yearly blast in Miami, Britto wishes to bring that spirit over to Boca Raton.

“Art Basel is very big. It’s the biggest art event in the world and it happens in Miami,” said Britto, who has been a Miami native since 1988.

“It is a very important event of the arts and I think it’s great to have more galleries, more exhibitions, and more art, because art inspires people. In Florida, there are so many people that have second homes here and I definitely want to share my work. It’s for people that collect my work already and new collectors as well. I am going to be there, meeting and greeting all the collectors, supporters, from all over.”

Britto shared his words of wisdom and inspiration for creating art.

“Art can make you look at something in an exciting and totally different way. It can give you the power to ‘fly,’ he said. “I get my inspiration from simple things in life, from beautiful things that happen around me, things that make me happy, leave me inspired. I believe that every human being has the power to do good for someone else.”

The Boca event is part of a Wentworth Gallery tour of two South Florida locations. Both on Saturday Dec. 16 at Wentworth Gallery Las Olas (819 East Las Olas Blvd. // RSVP: 954-468-0685 // lasolas@wentworthgallery.com) from 1-3 p.m., and Town Center Mall at Boca Raton (6000 Glades Rd. // 561-338-0804 // towncenter@wentworthgallery.com) from 6-9 p.m.

The galleries will host this public exhibition, which is complementary and RSVP’s are strongly suggested. For more information about the event, visit wentworthgallery.com. For more information and news on Romero Britto, visit britto.com
