Local young professionals are invited to “mix and mingle for meaningful mission” at the inaugural Habitat for Humanity of South Palm Beach County’s Ugly Sweater Cocktail Party to kick off the organization’s new Habitat Young
Professionals Club (HYPC) on Tuesday, December 12 at Ouzo Bay Greek Kouzina (Mizner Park) from 5:30 pm to 8:30 p.m.  Prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third place ‘Ugly Sweaters of Distinction,’ so attendees are encouraged start shopping now for award-worthy attire.

While enjoying holiday cheer with like-minded community supporters, attendees will learn more about the valuable personal and community advantages and benefits of joining the new Habitat Young Professionals Club for those aged 40 and under. Members of this special club will have the opportunity to help strengthen the South Palm Beach County community by joining in HFHSPBC’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, community and hope in the cities of Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach.

“This new Habitat Young Professionals Club has been created to draw together young professional ‘good deed doer’s’ as leaders, volunteers, advocates, educators and donors with humanitarian opportunities both in our own backyard and in 70 countries around the world,” shared HFHSPBC Chief Development Officer Kari Oeltjen.

HFHSPBC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the elimination of substandard housing by building simple, decent and affordable housing in partnership with families, our community and local organizations. The organization helps low-income, hard-working families in South Palm Beach County community break the poverty cycle with a life-changing “hand up, never a hand out” that includes an affordable, zero interest mortgage made possible through HFHSPBC’s Fund for Humanity. All of the families who qualify and purchase homes through Habitat earn their mortgage by fulfilling 500 hours of sweat equity and completing educational classes to prepare them for success as an empowered, new homeowner.

“Just like when building a Habitat home, a group of engaged, passionate individuals can make a significant impact,” added HFHSPBC Senior Director of Government and Community Affairs Mohamed Abdalla.  “Our Habitat Young Professionals Club is all about bringing together talented young leaders who want to be community stakeholders
through shared and meaningful purpose. We look forward to uniting to help empower families while finding a sense of personal fulfillment through our giving back.”

RSVP to the Habitat Young Professionals Club (HYPC) Ugly Sweater Cocktail Party is required. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $20 at https://www.habitatsouthpalmbeach.org/,
