Boys & Girls Club of Boca Raton Announce New Advisory Board Slate

bgcBoys & Girls Club of Boca Raton  announced that four new members have been selected to serve on its advisory board.

The new board members are Chairman, Philip Studer; Vice Chairman, Austin Bohlman; Treasurer, John Strickroot and Secretary, Nate Brown.

Philip Studer is a vice president at Comerica Wealth Management with a banking career that spans more than three decades.

Studer is a graduate of the University of Akron in Akron, OH, and holds an MBA from John Carroll University in Cleveland, OH. He has been a member of the Boca Raton-based George Snow Scholarship Fund for 11 years, is a former member of the board of directors and current trustee member of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, a Leadership Boca 2007 graduate, former board member of Fort Lauderdale-based House of Hope, a dual disorder (Mental Health and Substance Abuse) Rehabilitation Center as well as former board chairman of the Boca Raton Housing Authority. Studer and his wife, Joanne, of 32 years reside in Boca Raton and have two adult children.

Austin Bohlman is an advisor within the Investment Management Division of Goldman Sachs in West Palm Beach. He previously worked as an advisor at J.P. Morgan Securities, the wealth management division of J.P. Morgan, in Atlanta, GA. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Bohlman worked for Citco Fund Services (USA) Inc. in New York City where his clients were hedge funds and private equity firms in the northeast U.S. He earned a B.S. in Finance from Auburn University. He, his wife Mandy, and two daughters are residents of Boca Raton.

Bohlmann sits on the board of Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem, the Palm Beaches Commandery, and is an active member of Ascension Catholic Church.

John C. Strickroot, Jr. is a partner in the West Palm Beach office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where he is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. A Martindale-Hubbell AV® rated attorney, Strickroot has more than 25 years of legal experience representing clients in the acquisition and disposition of real estate and business interests, real estate development, general corporate matters, loan transactions of all types, and workouts and collection matters.

Prior to joining Shutts, Strickroot was the president and general counsel to a large Sarasota real estate development company and an internal auditor for a large Florida utility company. He was also a commercial loan officer and manager for a large regional commercial bank.

Nathan Brown is an associate in the Private Client Services Department of Proskauer Rose LLP. He advises clients on a wide range of tax and estate planning matters, as well as estate and trust administration. Brown assists high net worth individuals and families develop suitable estate plans to maximize and protect the transfer of wealth to future generations.

In law school, Brown received the Faculty Significant Achievement Award and the Outstanding Scholastic Achievement Award in Taxation. In the process of earning a Master of Laws degree, he served as a graduate editor of the Florida Tax Review and received the Richard B. Stephens Award, given to the most outstanding student in the graduate tax program.
