Taste of Recovery – SAT, June 3!

New Culinary Event promises fantastic fare – and a Chance for Recovery

As you’ve probably heard by now (unless you’ve been living in a cave or something), Louie Bossi’s Ristorante, Bar & Pizzeria recently opened in Boca Raton, and has fast become the town’s happenin’ new hot spot.  The new restaurant has already received great success, just like the original Loui Bossi’s in Ft. Lauderdale.  And now, Chef/Owner Louie Bossi is “paying it forward,” by hosting the inaugural launch of the area’s newest culinary event,  Taste of Recovery.   It takes place TOMORROW (Saturday, June 3) at Old School Square Pavilion in Delray Beach from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m.

The culinary festival benefits The Crossroads Club in Delray, a 35 year-old non-profit organization that provide meeting space for 12-Step recovery groups at no cost.  A fitting choice indeed for Chef Louie, who overcame a heroin addiction and homelessness to become one of south Florida’s leading chefs.  “Almost every family, including my own, has been impacted by addiction, and I’m proud to be in my ninth year of recovery, which might not have been possible without the support of The Crossroads Club,” said Chef Louie Bossi.  “This event is a tribute to all who have lost their lives and to those in recovery. The restaurant industry in particular has large numbers of employees in recovery.”

For one low price of only $40, Guests will enjoy unlimited samplings from area restaurants, along fine wines and spirits, and live entertainment.  Participating restaurants (so far) include Louie Bossi’s, Bolay, City Oyster & Sushi Bar, Farmer’s Table, Fries to Caviar, Josie’s Ristorante, Max’s Harvest, Oceans 234, Outback Steakhouse, Papa’s Raw Bar,  Rebel House,  Rocco’s Tacos, Seasons 52, The Grille on Congress, Tucker Duke’s, and more! Vero Water, AC Beverage and local artisan roaster San Giorgio Coffee will provide drinks.

   Participating chefs will compete for cash prizes for “Best Bite.”  Judges include famed Chef and personality Ralph Pagano, Chef Jim Furci, and food writers Mike Mayo and Jan Norris.

In addition, nationally known comedian, SARGE, will emcee the event and comedian Rick Corso will perform.  Corso was selected as one of Showtime’s Comedy Club All Stars and was a member of Comedy Central’s “The A List.” The Jazz and Swing Society and Dave Scott and the Reckless Shots will be providing live musical entertainment, as well.
