By: Michael Demyan

fauBoca Raton Police have arrested a man after a four-hour search near Florida Atlantic University Friday morning.

The still unidentified man was arrested at an apartment complex just before noon and was taken away in an ambulance. Police first responded to a report of two men sleeping in a vacant building on the 1500 block of Northwest Second Avenue at 8 a.m. When they arrived on the scene, the one man fled on foot.

A police helicopter circled the area and K-9s were present on the scene. Before the arrest, police reportedly discovered he had drug-related outstanding warrants.

Since the search happened near the FAU and Palm Beach State College campuses, students were sent alerts shortly before 11 a.m. to avoid the Northwest 20th Street entrance.
