Taste of the Nation Returns! Friday, May 12, 2017

Mark your calendars! South Florida’s Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry takes place Friday, May 12, 2017.  Held in many cities throughout the year, Taste of the Nation is one of the nation’s most prestigious and best-loved culinary events.  And the south Florida Taste is always one the best in the country!

This year’s event will again take place at the Soho Studios in Miami’s the cool Wynwood Arts District.  That’s where South Florida foodies unite to in a spectacular evening of gourmet tastings, fine wines and spirits, live entertainment, and general frivolity – all to help fight childhood hunger.  All proceeds benefit Share Our Strength, and its noble “No Kid Hungry” campaign to end childhood hunger in America.

Here’s your chance to savor unlimited samplings from nearly 60 of south Florida’s top eateries, under the guidance of Chef Chairman Timon Balloo (of Sugarcane and SushiSamba fame). Of course you’ll also get to enjoy endless pours of fine wines, spirits, and craft beers.  Just a “taste” of this year’s restaurant includes: 3030 Ocean, Bar Collins, Beaker & Gray, BLT Prime, Bourbon Steak Miami, Burlock Coast Seafare & Spirits, Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, Finka, Glass & Vine, Kuro, Louie Bossi’s, Loews Miami Beach Hotel, Lure Fishbar, Macchialina, Meat Market, Michael’s Genuine Food & Drink, Ortanique On the Mile, Phuc Yea, Scarpetta by Scott Conant, Surgarcane, Sushi SambaThe Dutch Miami, Whisk Gourmet, Wild Sea Oyster Bar & Grille, Zest, and about 40 more!

The event will be emceed by CBS4’s Lisa Petrillo and Y-100 personality Nick Pena. The evening also features a Silent Auction with outstanding prizes, the Citi Lounge to relax and savor specialty cocktails, and the new Speakeasy section, where six of the hottest mixologists in South Florida will be shakin’ up a storm with their own specialty cocktail creations.

The party then continues at R House, where Chef/Owner Rocco Carulli will team up with additional restaurants to treat guests to tasty bites and pours late into the night. Additional news about the after party will be announced at a later date.

taste-of-the-nation-some-delectable-dishes-at-lure-fishbarThe 29th Annual South Florida Taste of the Nation for No Kid Hungry takes place Friday, May 12, 2017 from 7:00 (or 6:00 for VIP Plus ticket holders) to 10:00 p.m. at the Soho Studios in Wynwood. The fun continues at the exclusive VIP After Party (for VIP ticket holders and Chefs) at R House in Wynwood from 10:00 to midnight.

General admission tickets are $125 per person. VIP tickets are $175, and include admission to the exclusive After Party. VIP Plus tickets are $200, and also provide access to the event one hour before the doors open as well as admission to the after party.  After Party admission tickets are priced at $75 per person.
