Bernie & Billi Marcus Host Educational Cocktail Reception Benefiting Hospice by the Sea Foundation

BOCA RATON, Fla. (Feb. 2, 2017) – Local members of the Palm Beach community attended the first in a series of informative events titled ‘Country Club Cocktails’, to enjoy an evening of enlightenment in support of Hospice by the Sea Foundation.

The invitation-only event was held at Saint Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton, which included drinks and hors d’oeuvres along with an informative speech by Dr. Leonard Hock Jr., Chief Medical Officer for Trustbridge specializing in Palliative Care and Advanced Illness Management. Dr. Hock touched on topics such as quality of life, healthcare decisions and rights as a patient and caregiver.

Attendees and donors were welcomed and hosted by Bernie and Billi Marcus, long-time supporters of Hospice by the Sea. The series of cocktail receptions will continue at other local Palm Beach area country clubs, each hosted by a different member.

“We are thrilled to support such a wonderful organization along with spreading the word to the community,” said Bernie Marcus, co-founder of The Home Depot and host of the evening’s event. “This organization is very near and dear to our hearts, and we sincerely believe in the exceptional services they provide.”

Hospice by the Sea and Hospice of Palm Beach County provide services to patients, their families and members of the community, regardless of their ability to pay.

“Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the entire community benefits from patient care and bereavement programs that far exceed what is covered under the Medicare hospice benefit,” added Greg Leach, President of Hospice by the Sea Foundation. “We can’t thank them enough.”unnamed unnamed-1 unnamed-2
