RAPPY’S Deli – Coming Soon to North Boca!

Burt Rapoport set to open adventurous new “Delica-Restaurant-Tessen”

Burt Rapoport is doing it again. Boca Raton’s favorite restaurant impresario has brought us dozens of popular venues over the years – and is now about to launch his latest masterpiece, Rappy’s Deli.  The exciting new venture is set to open in late November in the new Park Place Plaza on N. Military Trail (just north of Yamato Road).

Recognized as one of the most influential restaurateurs in south Florida, Burt Rapoport has fostered the careers of hundreds of disciples through his long list of popular venues – from past favorites like Prezzo and Opus 5, to current hot spots Burt & Max’s, Henry’s, Deck 84, and Bogart’s.  Burt literally grew up in the restaurant business, and still fondly remembers his childhood working with his father and grandfather at their family-owned deli in New York City.  And now, the legendary restaurateur is returning to his roots with the launch of Rappy’s, described as “a soulful, New York-style delicatessen, restaurant.”  Burt combines his heartfelt childhood memories with his uncanny restaurant expertise to create a one-of-a-kind “delica-restaurant-tessen.  “Opening a restaurant concept that offers soulful, Jewish-style cuisine takes me back to where it all began growing up in my family’s restaurant” reflects Rapoport, “Rappy’s truly signifies my life and my career coming full circle.”

The 160-seat restaurant will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus catering and special events.  Seating options include a main dining room, bar, and covered outdoor patio for relaxed alfresco dining.  The interior will showcase a traditional “NY Deli” design theme, with vintage subway tile, chalkboard menus, stained concrete flooring mixed with stainless steel, ambient lighting, modern wood design elements and creative branding.  And in true deli form, there will also be a 30-foot deli take-out counter, offering virtually every item on the menu To Go. And here’s the really cool part — unlike any other deli in town, Rappy’s will also have a full bar!  The spacious indoor/outdoor bar will feature creative craft cocktails and even boozy milkshakes, along with a nice wine and beer selection. (Hello, Happy Hour!)

Rappy’s (named after Burt’s father, Ray “Rappy” Rapoport) will be a deli-restaurant for the modern world.  Rappy’s menu will feature many of the classic Jewish deli dishes as well as contemporary interpretations on the popular deli favorites. The expansive menu will feature traditional favorites, including signature house-smoked pastrami and corned beef, classic chicken in a pot, and stuffed cabbage, along with a variety of gourmet hot dogs (with house-made mustard!), made-to-order  malts and shakes, and freshly baked desserts – plus a few contemporary surprises.

Rappy’s is slated to open in late November, 2016 – so stay tuned for my upcoming review!

Rappy’s is located at 5560 North Military Trail, at the new Park Place Plaza (just north of the Office Depot headquarters) in Boca Raton.
