This activity is part of the ARISS (Amateur Radio on the International Space Station) Program, which promotes learning opportunities as part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Education and Math) initiative. Twenty students will have the chance to ask their questions live to the ISS astronauts.

Boca Christian is a PreK3 – 12th grade school. All students will be present for the ISS connection. Many activities have taken place in all classrooms this fall to prepare students to understand the ISS and space activities. Additionally, 13 area schools have been invited to send students to share the experience.

The contact will be a Direct link with the ISS. Special maneuvering will be performed by the ISS to keep it in range of Boca Christian for as long as possible.  The communication is made possible with equipment and technical expertise from local amateur radio volunteers who are bringing and operating the equipment used to communicate.
