Florida’s Michael Mizrachi Heading to the Caribbean Poker Party

Between the 19th and 26th of November, partypoker will be hosting the WPT at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in the Dominican Republic. Punta Cana is well known for its tropical beaches and holiday resorts, but next month many of the world’s top poker players will head down to the Caribbean, not only to soak up the sun, but to square off against one another to see who can come away with the big prize pot.

Hollywood native Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi will be one of the most feared players at the table when he takes his seat in Punta Cana and the double WSOP bracelet holder will be hoping he can bring the big bucks with him back to Florida.

Just like our Florida Atlantic University football team, Mizrachi has had a mixed couple of years on the World Series of Poker circuit. He started the 2016 season with a bang, winning a warm up event, before finishing third in his hometown WPT Showdown event, right here in Hollywood. Since then, things haven’t quite gone to plan and Mizrachi has only had one final table finish in his last 13 events.

The Grinder has been a popular figure on the world poker circuit for a number of years now and burst onto the mainstream scene when winning his maiden WSOP bracelet back in 2010.
He hasn’t been afraid to rack up the air-miles in search of prizes either. Mizrachi has won tournaments in France, South Africa and Malta, as well as enjoying final table finishes at big competitions all around Europe.

This will not be the 35 year olds first trip to play poker in the Caribbean, having featured in tournaments on Paradise Island four times over the years. Mizrachi will be hoping Punta Cana proves more profitable than the Bahamas, but one this is for sure, when The Grinder does take his seat at the partypoker Caribbean Poker Party, you wouldn’t go all-in against him being the last man standing.
