Obituary of Dorothy “Dottie Lou” L Boehme

57adef392ef88Funeral services for Dorothy “Dottie Lou” L. Boehme, formerly of East Moline, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from noon until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal.  Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or the Make a Wish Foundation.

Mrs. Boehme died August 5, 2016, in Boca Raton, Florida. The former Dorothy Lou Aitchison was born April 25, 1931, in Peoria, IL, the daughter of George Leland and Gwendolyn Aitchison. She was preceded in death by her parents and also her husband, Albert, who she married in 1961, and with whom she celebrated 50 years of wedded life in 2011.

Dorothy was employed as an inventory management specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal Hq ARRCOM for 34 years, retiring in 1986. Dorothy loved traveling to visit with her family and she had the biggest smiles and laughter with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was a die-hard Cubs and Bears fan and loved all sports.  In her younger years, she loved going to stage doors after concerts by celebrity artists to get their autographs.  Dorothy also loved dancing to big band music with her husband, Al.  Dorothy was a sweet lady who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include daughter, Sandra (Robert) Quebbeman; son, Larry (Debbie) Carlson; step-daughter, Lorraine (Loren) Hansen; five grandchildren, Ryan Carlson, Amanda Ferguson, Josh Carlson, John Quebbeman, and Nicole Frank; ten great grandchildren; sister, Carol Burton; three nieces, Donna Muhr, Judy Carlson, and Debbie Torpy.
