Spirit of Giving to Host Annual Back to School Bash on August 6th

The Spirit of Giving is thrilled to announce that its annual Back To School Bash, an event that aims to prepare children for the upcoming school year by providing them with all the supplies they will need for school. The event will take place Saturday, August 6th at the Delray Beach Village Academy. The Back to School Bash is part of Boca Chamber Festival Days – a series events held at different locations during the month of August – and is facilitated by the Boca Chamber. Spirit of Giving has teamed up with Bell Rock Capital for this Chamber Festival Day event.

The event aims to provide local children with new backpacks full of grade-appropriate supplies, uniforms, new shoes, haircuts, healthy snacks, vision screenings and access to medical resources and information. At the event, students will be paired with a volunteer personal shopper to assist them in selecting their own backpack and supplies.

The Spirit of Giving is a collaborative, non-profit organization with a focus on children and families in Palm Beach County. Boca Raton Regional Hospital will also return to hold their Family Health Carnival at the Bash, featuring health resources, education, and screenings.

Beginning at just $50 and ranging up to $15,000, all donations support a specific program for the Back to School Bash to ensure all children are prepared for a new school year. Sponsorships are available on a first come first serve basis. All sponsors will have their names and logos on all press releases, printed materials, and website, and will also receive a tax-deductible thank you later.

Unfortunately, each year the number of students grows and the needs are always greater. The event is in need of  donations of new or nearly new athletic shoes.  We have partnered with In Jacob’s Shoes to help provide new shoes for these children.

They are looking for more volunteers to get involved and help with set up and stuffing backpacks and with various shifts to help with registration and assisting the children as personal shoppers as their parents receive complimentary health care screenings.

In addition to the Back to School Bash, the Spirit of giving is also hosting a kick-off event, “Sip, Shop, & Savor” at Mizner Park on Thursday, July 21, 2016. The event will take place all day and will feature promotions from Kendra Scott, J.McLaughlin & Sugarboo & Co. with % givebacks to benefit the Spirit of Giving’s Back to School Bash. Max’s Grille will participate as well with a “kids eat free” night.
