Two commissioners of the Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District are up for reelection on this year. This year, the local race has become interesting, with the incumbents, Dr. Dennis Frisch and Earl Starkoff each drawing two opponents.

Boca Raton Beach and Park commissioners are paid $80 for each meeting they attend and meet twice a month. Their main job is to manage Boca’s $46 million budget and to oversee the parks and beaches. In total there are eight members of the board.

Fighting for seat number one is incumbent Dennis Frisch, a Podiatric Surgeon, Craig Ehrnst, a corporate treasurer, and Shayla Enright, a medical physicist. The other seat coming up for election is seat 3 where current commissioner Earl Starkoff, technology services executive, will face John Costello, an accountant, and Erin Wright, who owns a local home inspection service.

This is an important vote for the community, as commissioners have the opportunity to work closely in the Boca Raton community to ensure the happiness of all residents. This vote directly affects the workings of the community so be sure to vote!

The non-partisan election will take place on August 30th, and the elected term for commissioners begins on January 1st. The last day to register to vote in this election is August 1st.
