Residents to Expect Delays in Railroad Crossings

For the next 10 days, Boca Raton residents should expect delays if they are crossing the railroads as crews will be working on the new Brightline rail systems.

The higher-speed rail system which is currently under construction will close Northwest 28th Street at the railroad tracks near Dixie Highway beginning 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 19 through 6 p.m. Saturday, July 23.

Then, from 7 a.m. Sunday, July 24 through 6 p.m. July 28, crews will close Northeast Second Street.

According to Brightline officials, the closures are necessary to improve the railroads for the express train service that, starting in 2017, will connect passengers from Miami to Orlando.
