  • There will be a free workshop on applying established agricultural techniques for successful small vegetable garden projects. Tips and techniques on site preparation, seedling establishment, planting, crop maintenance, and harvesting will all be covered in this event. The event is located at Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension Service on June 11 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. The event is free of charge but it is limited to the first 100 individuals to sign up.   • Mayor Susan Haynie was joined by Tom Thayer as the Mayor proclaimed May 21st – May 27th, 2026 “National Safe Boating Week” in Boca Raton. Both the Mayor and Flotilla Commander Thayer stressed the importance of safe boating habits – starting with ensuring everyone on the boat is wearing a life jacket (noting each year over 600 people die in boating-related accidents in the US with the vast majority caused by human error or poor judgment).
  • The City of Boca Raton City Council and Greater Boca Raton Beach & Parks District resolve to address the issues that have plagued their strained relationship over the past few years with the commitment for another joint meeting in the near future.
  • The Elk’s held a Kid’s Day event, complete with face painting, fun food. The event was filled with many fun indoors and outdoor activities. Elks Lodges are places where neighbors come together, families share meals, and children grow up. Elks invest in their communities through programs that help children grow up healthy and drug-free, by undertaking projects that address unmet need, and by honoring the service and sacrifice of our veterans.
  • Drivers in and around the City of Boca Raton are advised that crews working for All Aboard Florida will be offloading track rails at various locations within the Florida East Coast Railway right of way (along Dixie Hwy) from Monday, May 9, through Thursday, May 12, 2016.
  • The 15th Annual Men With Caring Hearts Awards Luncheon, benefiting Florence Fuller Child Development Foundation was held at the Boca West Country Club recognizing the social investment of a group of very special men in our community. Terry Fedele and Neil Meany did the honors as event co-chairs. Marvin Rubin was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
  • Congratulations to State Attorney for Florida’s 15th Judicial Circuit, Dave Aronberg, on his re-election, without opposition.
  • Boca Raton Rabbi, Josh Broide, and his wife, Simone Broide, are just two of the adult leaders traveling on the March of the Living 2016. Their trip started in Poland where there saw, and heard, first hand, about the Holocaust. The trip ends in Israel where the vitality of the Jewish people, living in freedom, can be savored. The International March of the Living is an annual educational program, which brings individuals from all over the world to Poland and Israel, in order to study the history of the Holocaust and to examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hate.
  • Yvonne Boice-Zucaro was honored on May 5th by the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches for her years of volunteerism. A well-deserved award!
  • Congratulations to our friend Yaacov Heller for the 10th Anniversary of Gallery 22 .
