West Boca Boys Lacrosse Bid Adieu to 17 Seniors

At the end of every season, high school sports teams say goodbye to their seniors as they graduate and they decide where they will be taking their talents.

West Boca High School’s boy’s lacrosse team had their last home game against Palm Beach Central under torrential rain. Although the weather conditions were not favorable, the West Boca Bulls came out on top with a 17 to 10 win.

But with so much of their team leaving, senior night had a lot of student athletes to recognize for their dedication and impact on the team.

Seventeen seniors in total were recognized on senior night.

Seniors

The Bulls have their most outstanding players which include four seniors who have been also recognized by the County for their excellence in the sport.

Of the four Ryan Mobley, who plays the position of Long Stick Middie (LSM), has been on the varsity lacrosse team all four years of high school.  As a middie his stats include 201 ground balls, 5 goals & 5 assists along with winning 1st Team All District and 1st Team All Region for the 2015 Season.

Another Middie that was recognized on senior night was Grant Telford, also played varsity lacrosse all four years and this year has scored 62 goals, has 16 assists & 57 ground balls.  Telford also made 1st Team All District and 1st Team All Region with Mobly for the 2015 season.

The third senior recognized as an outstanding player was Steve Santoro, an attacker who also played all four years and this year has 52 assists, 37 goals & 48 ground balls so far this season. Santoro also won 2nd Team All District for the 2015 season.

And the last senior recognized as an outstanding player is four year varsity player and goalie with 197 saves this season, Tyler DeVita. Devita also won 2nd Team All District and Honorable Mention All-Region for the 2015 season.

Sam Denmark – Goalie – 10 Saves

Jared Finver – Attack – 1 Goal & 2 Assists

Alec Gorbel – Defense – 44 Ground Balls

Cain Hankes – Attack – 1 Goal

Tristan Leser – Middie – 13 Goals, 8 Assists & 27 Ground Balls

Andy Lopez – Middie – 2 Goals & 1 Assist

Blake Paradise – Defense – 27 Ground Balls

Eric Saperstein – Middie – 1 Goal, 1 Assist & 13 Ground Balls

Bryan Sullivan – Middie – 1 Goal & 7 Ground Balls

Daniel Tabari – Defense – 13 Ground Balls

Danny Yehia – Middie– 3 Ground Balls

 

As the West Boca Bulls lacrosse team bids adieu to their seniors, the underclassmen will carry the torch and step up to fill in their shoes
