Event to educate the Public on Voting, New Legislation

The public is invited to a Voters Education Series on Saturday, March 12 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at 404 SW 3rd St., in Delray Beach.

Attendees will learn their rights and responsibilities as a voter, why voting in local elections is important and receive an update on a new law called “Corey’s Law.”

Corey’s Law was enacted after the death of Corey Jones, the 31-year-old Boynton Beach man who was shot and killed by former Palm Beach Gardens police Officer Nouman Raja on Oct. 18 while Jones had stopped on the side of Interstate 95.

The event is sponsored by the South Palm Beach chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
