Accident on Palmetto Park Road leaves one dead, another in serious condition

An accident that happened at 1700 West Palmetto Park Road early Friday morning, Feb. 5 left one driver dead, and another in serious condition.

Shortly after midnight, Christopher Torres Pereira, 25, attempted to turn left onto westbound Palmetto Park Road in his 2009 Honda Civic after getting off northbound I-95, but was stuck in the driver’s side by a 1998 Nissan Pathfinder.

The Pathfinder was being driven by Carol Degrave, 58, of Boca Raton who was driving in the left through lane on eastbound Palmetto Park Road.

Pereira, whose residence remains unknown, was declared dead at the scene, while Degrave was removed from her vehicle and transported via ambulance to Delray Medical Center.

Boca Raton Police advise anyone who might have further information related to the accident to contact Adam Reisner, the department’s Traffic Homicide Investigator, at (561) 620-6121.
