Sample-McDougald House Hosts Antique Auto Show

On Saturday, January 23rd, the historic Sample-McDougald House at Centennial Park (450 NE 10th Street, Pompano Beach) will host an antique and classic automobile show on the grounds of the historic structure.

As many as 50 cars will be on display, ranging from a Model T Ford to 1960s muscle cars.  The City of Pompano Beach’s 1926 fire engine will also be at the show.  The antique and classic cars will participate through the Antique Automobile Club of America, Fort Lauderdale Chapter.

The 1916 Sample-McDougald House will be open for tours during the automobile show from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Admission to the car show and the historic house is $5.00 per person. Children under 12 are free.

This show will be the first event in the Sample-McDougald House’s centennial year.  The landmark structure was constructed in 1916 by Albert Neal Sample.  Originally located on Dixie Highway, the house was moved to its current location in 2001 in order to preserve it.  It is now open as a museum and is available for facility rentals.

For information on the car show, contact Jerry Bowman at 954 298-0854
