I was deeply saddened today to learn of the passing of one of my dearest friend’s, Flossy Keesley. Flossy had been like a second Mother to me from the time I met her 17 years ago when Bob and I first moved to Boca Raton. We were seated together in the Countess De Hoernle’s box at the opening of the Mizner Amphitheatre and we instantly became best friends. She invited me to lunch to join her Ziegfield Follies Girls Group. Through the years we attended many different community events together and Flossy was so generous and charitable to the Boca Comnmunity. The statue of Flossy in Mizner Park will long remember this remarkable woman who donated so generously to the young artists of Boca Raton and singer, Ariana Grande performed in one of Flossy’s shows when she was a youngster.

Flossy’s last public outing was at the Wick Theatre where I took her for her birthday to see the show, “Ain’t Misbehavin”and we were joined by the Countess DeHoernle. It was on her bucket list to see the Wick Theatre and I bought tickets to honor her wish for her birthday and Marilyn Wick honored her 100th birthday with champagne and a birthday cake and the audience sang Happy 100th Birthday to Flossy. She told me she wanted a memorial service for her friend’s at the fountain statue after her passing. and we will hold a celebration of Flossy’s life on Feb. 12th at 3:15pm
at Flossy’s Fountain at the Mizner Amphitheatre. To all Flossy’s friend’s, please come and join us to celeebrate Flossy’s wonderful life.

Boca Raton has lost a wonderful, inspirational legend today! Goodbye dear Flossy who joined her beloved husband, Nick in heaven today. You will be terribly missed by all of us who loved you so much.
