       Mary Lou Berger is the new mayor of Palm Beach County. The County Commission voted unanimously to name Berger to the post, created in 2013.

     Jerry Fedele, president and CEO of Boca Raton Regional Hospital is the new Chairman of the Greater Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce.

     Spanish River Blvd. will be closed from Broken Sound Highway to Airport Road Wednesday and Thursday nights from 9 pm to and 6 am for ongoing work rebuilding the I-95 overpass.

     Gucci opens a store In Town Center in Boca Raton that will look like the Milan Flagship on Nov. 13, showcasing the fashion house’s concept redesign first unveiled in Milan on Via Montenapoleone in September. The 5,800-square-foot store features soft velvet armchairs alongside harder, industrial elements, such as rivets. This look is part of a concept developed by Gucci’s new creative director, Alessandro Michele.

      Staples’ and Office Depot’s plan to merge will be put off until March as the European Union says it won’t complete its antitrust review until then.

     Celebrities will be serving up grand slams for charity during the 26th annual Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic, Nov. 20-22 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center, 201 W. Atlantic Ave and gala dinner at the Boca Raton Resort & Club Saturday evening for $750. Stand-up comedian and best-selling author Chelsea Handler, rapper and TV host Vanilla Ice and actors Jason Biggs and Antonio Sabato Jr. have agreed to practice their backhand for their first appearances in the charity match. The event takes place from Nov. 20 to Nov. 22 at the Delray Beach Tennis Center at 201 W. Atlantic Ave. Tennis hall of famers Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver, former ATP pro and ESPN commentator Patrick McEnroe and former WTA pros Lisa Raymond and Rennae Stubbs also will play in the event.
