Congregation B’nai Israel and Palm Beach County Food Bank Partner Turn Hunger Into Hope at 22nd Annual Yom Kippur Food Drive

Congregation B’nai Israel’s (CBI) Kantor Family Center for Justice, for the 22nd consecutive year, collected food during the Jewish High Holidays for families who might go hungry otherwise.

Members took home plastic bags at the conclusion of Rosh Hashanah services to fill with non-perishable and non-breakable food items. When congregation members brought the bags back on Yom Kippur on September 23rd, they were filled with 10,000 pounds of food, which will be distributed to needy families.

The Congregation partnered with Palm Beach County Food Bank to collect food donations from members of the congregation during the High Holy Days. The food will be distributed by Feed My Community, Jacobson Family Food Pantry of Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services, C.R.O.S. Ministries, First United Methodist Church and more.
