FAU Receives $25,000 from the Rotary Club of Boca Raton

By: Amy Haycock

Florida Atlantic University recently received a $25,000 gift from the Rotary Club of Boca Raton to establish the Rotary Club of Boca Raton Scholarship Fund. The fund will award scholarships to students from Palm Beach County who are dedicated to community service.

“I would like to extend my personal thanks to the Rotary Club of Boca Raton for this generous gift,” said Stacy Volnick, FAU interim vice president for institutional advancement. “The Rotary Club’s support provides essential financial assistance and mentorship opportunities for each of the scholarship recipients, to provide academic and non-academic guidance. Thank you for joining hands with us in serving our students.”

The Rotary Club of Boca Raton Scholarship will provide recipients with financial assistance for one academic year, and may be renewed annually. In addition to maintaining a minimum GPA, recipients must have attended high school in Palm Beach County, demonstrate a strong commitment to community service, and participate in the Rotary Club’s mentorship program.

“We are proud of our association with the Florida Atlantic University Foundation and we consider it a privilege to provide mentorship and scholarship funding for worthy FAU students,” said Spencer Siegel, president of the Rotary Club of Boca Raton. “I look forward to a long and productive relationship with the school. Boca Raton is fortunate to have a progressive and vibrant campus right here in our hometown.”
