Things to do in Boca Raton on the Fourth of July

By Christian Alonso

This week coming is the Fourth of July, one of our nation’s greatest celebrations. You got your grilling on, cooking up some burgers and hot dogs, with a nice cold beer in your hand as you got your fireworks ready. Everything about that sounds really good to do but what if you want to change up for this upcoming Fourth of July. You can still have your cold beer in your hand, you can eat your burgers or hot dogs without the hassle of making it yourself, and you can watch those fireworks getting blown up in the sky without you getting burn in the process or blown up as well. Well, in our great town of Boca Raton, we have stuff for you to do and you can bring your family along as well. And for those who might aren’t into the whole fireworks exploding, there are some stuff to do too as well.

For your family fun you have three events going on. At the Count de Hoernle Park over by 1000 NW Spanish River Boulevard, you have the Fabulous Fourth Celebration. It starts at 5:30 p.m., with numerous activities which include: Zip line rides, carnival games, food for purchase and children’s crafts. The All-Star American Band will take the stage at 6:30pm as they play music from the 60s to the 80s. The fireworks display starts at 9pm. Admission and parking for the event is free.

At the Count de Hoernle Amphitheater, the 8th Annual 4th of July Celebration will take place. A live American Classic Rock concert with “Ocean Boulevard” will take place as well as kid fun zones filled with actives, food and beverage concessions and ice cream trucks on site, and an exciting fireworks display to close out the night! Gates open at 5:30 and admission is free.

Lastly at the Boca Raton Resort & Club, you got your wet & wild fun with waterslides, slip & slides, a dunk tank, carnival games, carnival foods and more (remember to bring your bathing suits). “On the Roxx” will be performing an incredible mix of the best ’80s tune. A plentiful holiday barbeque for all ages, featuring sliders, lobster medallions, jumbo shrimp, pulled pork, brisket and more. And of course an amazing fireworks display on the 18th hole. Admission is $85 for adults, $45 for teens, $35 for children 5-12 years of age, and free for children under four.
