Boca Raton Honors Fallen Heroes During Memorial Day

Honor prevailed this Memorial day at the Boca Raton Municipal Cemetery and Mausoleum as members of our community, including veterans and city officials, took to the podium to share with us, stories of American sacrifice. They reminded us of what it means to be an American and commemorated the fallen hero’s of our armed services.

“The ceremony was beautiful,” Said Patricial Salinas of Boca Raton “It’s so important that we remember those who have died protecting our freedoms.”

The Boca Raton Community High School NJROTC conducted a flag-folding ceremony and the ceremony concluded with the drums and pipes of the Fort Lauderdale Highlanders bagpipe band echoing through the Palmetto Park neighborhood.

Later in the evening at the Mizner Park Amphitheater was a free concert. With the lawn filled, The New Gardens Band, under the direction of Owen Seward, played patriotic musical melodies throughout the evening.
