Boca Raton City Council Welcomes Rodgers, Name Weinroth “Deputy Mayor”

After his rather surprising victory in last month’s election, Jeremy Rodgers was officially sworn in at Boca Raton City Hall on March 31st alongside Councilman Robert Weinroth, who was elected to a three-year term on the City Council unopposed.

The crowd packed the Council Chambers on Tuesday to welcome newcomer Rodgers and to thank term-limited Councilwoman Constance Scott on her job well done.

“When we started this, no one gave us a chance,” Rodgers said to the crowd. “We had a tough road, it’s not often you face being outspent 10 to one, go against the establishment and find yourself sitting up here.”

One of the first orders of business for the new Council Members was naming a new Deputy Mayor, to fill the role left by term-limited Scott.

The Council voted on naming Councilman Weinroth the new Deputy Mayor of the of Boca Raton.

After a few more decision were made, one of which was Councilman Scott Singer returning to his position as chairman of the Community Redevelopment Agency, the council adjourned to the City Hall courtyard where the official Council photograph was taken and the grow was able to enjoy refreshments and speak to their elected officials.
