View Every Challenge as a Possibility!

By Dr. Synesio Lyra, Jr.

Challenges are never to be looked at as impossibilities, nor as inconveniences designed to intimidate us. Life itself is a challenge and offers a series of manifold, additional challenges to any human, anywhere on earth!

Even the hardest barriers we encounter should never be approached with fear, but with the confidence that they can be met with courage, transcending the odds, permitting us to enjoy ultimate success!

Difficult as some challenges may appear, or in reality be, not all of them constitute an unsolvable dilemma. Yet, even if some might present an impossibility at first, let us never forget that not all such conflicts are of the same nature, just as their solutions often vary as well, even for the same problems, in case these should reappear.

One’s personal outlook toward any challenge needs to be reasonable, even positive, if ultimate success can be anticipated. That’s why I encourage myself and my readers to view every challenge as a possibility, and not dismissively give up!

You may be confronting a hard task, a lengthy project, with unreasonable fears; you can be looking at it from an inadequate angle and, thus, perceive what is not necessarily there.

As Stephen R. Covey so wisely commented, “We simply assume that the way we see things is the way they really are or the way they should be. And our attitudes and behaviors grow out of those assumptions.”

Being social creatures we should never refrain from seeking the opinion and the aid of others we can trust. What we may erroneously understand from one angle, others can provide the correct perspective to help us, as they observe a situation from a more accurate point of viewing.

Where we may encounter the end of a road, others may call our attention and point us to a passage we had missed noticing altogether, but one that can and will lead us to where we need to go, so as to reach what we are pursuing. The greatest prize for persistence is reaching one’s goal after all hope had been prematurely abandoned!
