Junior League of Boca Raton to Host Flavors, a From the Farm to Your Fork Culinary Event, at Sonoma House on February 12th

BOCA RATON, FL, January 28, 2015– The Junior League of Boca Raton announces a key fundraiser and its annual culinary festival, Flavors.  The event will be held on February 12th, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Sonoma House in Boca Raton. This year’s event theme is “From the Farm to Your Fork” and will focus on flavors that are local, fresh, sustainable and nutritious.

 

Flavors’ Chef Chair is Patrick Broadhead, Executive Chef for The Max Group (Max’s Grille, Max’s Harvest and Sonoma House). Guests will have the luxury to indulge in a remarkable culinary experience where local chefs will delight guests with fresh and sustainable foods. Event co-chairs for this notable event are Alicia Lyons Laufer and Melissa Novak.

 

Held in the charming Sonoma House in downtown Boca Raton (220 NE 11th, Boca Raton, FL 33432, one block southeast of Glades Road and Federal Highway), the exclusive evening will include a delectable choice of wines, an open bar and delicious samplings from local restaurants. In addition, the event will include a Flavors marketplace, a decadent chocolate dessert lounge, silent auction, dancing, and live music by “The People Upstairs”. Participating restaurants include Max’s Grill, Max’s Harvest, Blue Martini, Burt & Max’s, Caffe Luna Rosa, Candy’s Cake Pops, City Fish Market, Fit Foodz Cafe, Jodi’s Cupcakes & More, Juice & Java Cafe, M.E.A.T. Eatery & Taproom, Merlino’s, Melting Pot, Oceans 234, Palm Beach Cakes, Publix Aprons, Rachel’s Room, Sorrisi, and Taverna Opa.

 

Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Junior League of Boca Raton’s mission of promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community.  The Junior League of Boca Raton improves the community by focusing on the issues of hunger, child welfare and non-profit support.

 

“The funds raised through Flavors will further the Junior League’s efforts to create a lasting impact on our community.  Locally, we have helped over 150,000 women and children and our highly-trained volunteers donate more than 35,000 service hours a year,” said Andrea Garcia, President of the Junior League of Boca Raton.
