South Florida real estate developer Elad National Properties is helping local high school athletes gear up for their games. This week Elad presented Boca Raton Community High School with a $2,500 contribution to support the varsity boys’ basketball team. The contribution funded healthy meals before each game this season and supported the holiday basketball tournament in December.

“Athletics are instrumental in balanced development for kids, but they are often overlooked and under-funded,” said Elad National Properties Senior Executive Officer, Bill Shewalter. “We’ve been building top quality projects in this community for 10 years, and at the same time supporting the development of healthy communities in South Florida, especially in Boca Raton, our Palm Beach County home. Athletic programs like Boca Raton Community’s basketball team make points on more than a scoreboard – as a wholesome, healthy community.”

Varsity Bobcat basketball coach Max Spinner accepted the donation on behalf of the school during the last home game of the season, which was also Senior Night. The team took on Atlantic High School and went on to defeat the Eagles in a 75-74 victory.

The Varsity boys’ basketball team ended the season with a 14-9 record.
