 About the All Saints Harpsichord

This is the debut concert for the Neupert “Bach” harpsichord, which was recently added to the music ministry of All Saints Episcopal Church. This instrument was made possible through the generous bequest of the late, Larry Shields, who had been a choir member at the church. It is a two manual instrument: I manual 8’, 16’ (16’ lute) – II manual 8’, 4’ (8’ lute). The “Bach” harpsichord was designed after an instrument presumed to be either played by Bach or one that was in use nearby during his lifetime. This particular instrument was built in 1974. The “Bach” model continues to be manufactured by the Neupert Company in Bamberg, Germany. Neupert Harpsichords was founded in 1868 by Johann Christoph Neupert.
