Obituary: Delores Zager dies at 84

Delores Zager, 84, died peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, in Naples, Florida. Born Delores Alice Janz on May 10, 1928, in West Bend, Wisconsin, Delores married Joseph Zager on September 11, 1950. Joe and Delores were restaurateurs for over 35 years.  They owned The Beacon Restaurant in West Bend until 1972, then moved to Boca Raton, Florida.  In Boca Raton, they operated The Chef’s Corner on 1st Avenue. Delores was very active in church, serving as a Deacon at the Congregational Church of Boca Raton until she moved to Bonita Springs Florida for health reasons in 2010. Delores leaves two daughters, Pearl Zager (Dan) and Mary Ann Zager (Ken Scheidell); her younger brother Warren Janz (Barb); five grandchildren, Kendra Zager, Nick Zager, Courtney Scarborough (John), Brent Scheidell (Joy), and Kelly Scheidell; and one granddaughter, Avery May Scarborough; who loved and miss her dearly. A family celebration of Delores’ long and joyful life will be held in Wisconsin this June, where Delores will rest next to her husband.
