On September 26th, the 2nd Annual John Assante 1.5 Mile Memorial Walk was held in Mizner Park. The event was a success. Not only did the many attendees have a wonderful time, they helped raise awareness for a horrible disease. The event was inspired through the love and care of John Assante’s family and friends who miss their husband, father, and friend. They hope to save other families the horror of losing a loved one so suddenly.

John’s Story:

John Assante had just awoken on a Saturday morning after laughing at the movies the night before. Everything about this day seemed routine. Within hours, John was rushed to the hospital, stricken from a silent predator he didn’t know existed. Years before, John’s mother was struck down with the sudden, piercing pain of a brain aneurysm.

John was unaware that this disease was hereditary. A simple diagnostic test, called an MRA could have prevented this tragedy. Unfortunately, nobody told us or John.

All money raised at the event went to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. To donate go to their website: www.bafound.org
