Lynn Men’s and Women’s Tennis Selected as NCAA Host

Indianapolis— Lynn University’s men’s and women’s tennis teams were selected to host one of the two NCAA Division II South Regional tournaments with both the men and the women claiming the second seed as announced by the NCAA on Tuesday.

Lynn’s men’s tennis team enters the tournament with an 18-3 record and the second best team in the South Region. The men start the action first by taking on Sunshine State Conference foe and seventh-seeded Florida Southern on Saturday, April 28, at 10 a.m.

Continuing in men’s action, No. 3 seed Barry will make the 45 mile trip north to play the six seed and defending national champions, Valdosta St. Blazers on Saturday, April 28, at 2 p.m.

The men’s NCAA Region 2 final will take place on Sunday, April 29, at 1 p.m. with the winner of the Lynn-Florida Southern match taking on the victor of the Barry-Valdosta St. contest.

On the women’s side, Lynn (18-4) kicks things off on Monday, April 30, starting at 10 a.m. versus seventh seed Florida Tech. With the No. 3 seed, West Florida plays the sixth seeded Mocs of Florida Southern at 2 p.m., on Monday, April 30.

The winner of the women’s NCAA Region 2 semifinal matches will meet in a finale set for Tuesday, May 1, at 1 p.m.
