FAU names stadium tower in honor of Martin F. and Jane Greenberg

BOCA RATON – The Florida Atlantic University Stadium Tower has been named in honor of longtime supporters Martin F. and Jane Greenberg.

The Greenbergs are members of the Inner Circle of Football Founders and have donated more than $1 million to the FAU football program.

“We are extremely grateful to the Greenbergs for their generosity, and we’re pleased to name the Martin F. and Jane Greenberg Foundation Tower in their honor,” said FAU President Mary Jane Saunders.

“The support FAU athletics has received from the Greenbergs helped launch our football program more than a decade ago and now helps to ensure that the Owls will have a home stadium to call their own.”

To date, FAU has secured more than 30 named sponsorships for the stadium. The university is offering naming rights for more than 30 additional venues in and around the stadium to help fund the $70 million project.

“I would like to extend double thanks to Martin and Jane Greenberg for their extraordinary generosity,” said Head Football Coach Howard Schnellenberger. “The Greenbergs were among the earliest Founders to help set our football program in motion, and now, they have taken a great step in helping to finance our stadium. The Greenbergs are easily one of the leading benefactors of our team, and we truly appreciate their support.”

FAU’s 30,000-seat open-air stadium features 6,000 premium seats, including 24 suites, 26 loge boxes, 1,000 premier club seats and 4,000 priority club seats, and the latest, state-of-the-art amenities. The FAU football team will play five games in the new stadium during the 2011 season.

The stadium officially opened Oct. 15 with a game between FAU and Western Kentucky.
